In 30 seconds

This field guide helps you turn real company work into reliable digital and AI-assisted workflows. You can read it as a course or use it as a reference when you are stuck on one decision.

Both ways lead to the same place: a workflow you understand well enough to improve safely.

Two ways to read it

Most people arrive in one of two states.

You want to build a mental model. In that case, start with The Workflow Ladder and follow the numbered stages from Understand to Operate. You do not need to read every article. The stage pages tell you what each step is for.

You have a specific problem right now. In that case, use the search field or jump straight to the stage that matches your question. Looking for the difference between an assistant and an agent? Go to Assess. Worried about what an AI is allowed to change? Go to Design.

The four kinds of page

Every article has a type, shown near its title.

  • A guide helps you do something. It uses verbs and ends with a clear result.
  • A concept helps you understand something. It answers what it is and when it matters.
  • A pattern shows a reusable way to solve a recurring workflow problem.
  • A checklist helps you avoid forgetting something important before a decision.

You do not need to memorize these. They simply tell you what to expect before you start reading.

How deep each page goes

Pages are labelled by depth: essential, practical or technical. Essential pages give you the mental model. Practical pages help when you hit that kind of problem. Technical pages go deeper when you need to implement or discuss the underlying system.

Nobody is forced through the deep version to understand the useful version.

What this guide is not

This is not an AI news feed, a tool directory or a framework manual. It teaches a durable practice: understanding work, structuring knowledge, deciding where AI helps, and operating what you build. The specific models and vendors will change. The practice will not.

Good enough to move on when

  • You know whether you are here to learn the approach or solve one problem.
  • You can find the stage that matches your current work.
  • You know how to tell a guide, concept, pattern and checklist apart.
